Red Cliff Design was founded in 2014 by Vicki Russell. Based in Sidmouth, Devon, Red Cliff is a small, approachable design and illustration studio offering a conscientious, high quality and friendly service.
Vicki has worked in the design industry since she graduated from University in 2001. Her early career spanned publishing and editorial magazine design, through to more client-based corporate graphic design. She has worked with businesses of all sizes and covering many industries, designing for large established corporations, charities and government-funded projects, through to medium-sized businesses and small start-ups. Vicki is able to draw on this wide experience to offer design advice, as well as a bespoke and tailored design service.
After being employed for 13 happy years, Vicki initially founded Red Cliff Design to plug the gap in local, quality, design services. Since its launch in 2014, Red Cliff has worked with a huge range of local businesses and individuals, many of whom are regular clients (now friends), plus many national companies, charities and services.
As Red Cliff expanded, Andrew and Maria joined Vicki's freelance team of artworkers and designers – they lend an invaluable hand when things get hectic! This teamwork helps spark new ideas and creativity, not to mention the sharing of knowledge and skills, which is hugely beneficial in such a fast-moving industry.

CASE STUDY
Building a Brand – Buzz Coffee
This short reel is an example of how we go about creating a simple brand. It all starts with a chat about the business. Then we share and talk through brand ideas, looking at target audience, business personality, imagery, colours and typefaces. These are gradually developed into the company logo/s and initial brand guidelines.
Once these design building blocks are in place we use them to create digital and printed marketing materials, packaging and promotional items etc, which all come together to form a cohesive and easily-identifiable brand identity.
